Review the CPSC
website for recalled items:www.cpsc.gov·
Due to the many items being sold we recommend that you
pricecompetitively. A good basic guide is to price
1/3 to 1/2 of the original price, depending on the name brand and
condition of item.
Keep in mind the quality, name brand,
and condition of your items. Think carefully before you price your items and price reasonably.·
Many shoppers who come during the ½ price sale just looking
for ½ price items. Price as many of your items as
possible at ½ price for the most sales!
If you are planning on donating unsold items go ahead and
let your items be sold at 1/2
price and
give your items an extra chance to sell during the sale!·
Typically, we have an abundance of infant and small baby items so
remember and price to sell
(You may want to price them cheaper if you want them to sell).
Spending a little "extra" time getting your items ready will mean
more Money for you. Present them at their best for
more $$$ for you!
Clean, ironed, starched and fresh smelling clothing sells
better!
(Shoppers notice the neatness of items and will purchase the items
that look the best on the rack.)·
Close buttons, snap snaps and zip zippers.
(It makes the clothing look better and shoppers are able to see that
all buttons, snaps, zippers are in working order.)·
Sets tend to sell better than separates,
if possible match your separates up. (Pair up a matching top
and pair of shorts, blouse and skirt, etc...)
Do not write on both sides of the index card.
If you make a mistake please use a new card. If you take your
items to another sale, please re-do the cards because not all sales
use the same system.
Remove stains from items
(See hints below.)
Mend or repair any loose hems, buttons, etc.
(Shoppers will inspect items very carefully and will not purchase
those with problems.)
Make sure all furniture, equipment and toys are clean.
(A little soap and water goes a long way in improving the appearance
of items and they will sell for more $.)
Items with all of the pieces attached will sell much better!
This means more money for you! (Place small loose pieces in a
zip lock baggie, secure and seal the top of the bag with extra
strong packing tape so that children can not open and remove
pieces!)
Puzzles are easily packaged by wrapping in
saran wrap and then sealing with packing tape on the back.
(This keeps all the pieces together!.) Click Here for Picture
Make sure batteries
are included (The dollar
stores sell batteries for $1.) Shoppers want to make sure the items
they are purchasing are in working order.
Most Dry Cleaners will give you wire coat
hangers free.
If you have 75 or more items you need to drop
off on Sunday.
KidsTown will no longer accept Carseats or booster seats (unless
they are being sold as part of a stroller set) due to safety
concerns.
KidsTown will no longer accept
Maternity Clothing.
Our all time favorite is Greased Lightening
(sold with household cleaners) It has worked wonders for all three
of us! Just spray on your stain (DON’T be alarmed when
clothing changes color, it will return to original color during
wash), let it sit for a while and then wash as usual. Most
stains will come out in the wash. Difficult stains may require
spraying a couple of time

without damaging the finish. Wear rubber gloves.
