What to sell at KidsTown

Please read carefully for new changes this season!

     To maintain the high standards we have set and quality of items available for purchase, we will be inspecting each item on drop off.  We ask that you only bring items of the quality and condition that you would be willing to purchase yourself.   Items that are torn, soiled, outdated or have missing parts will not be accepted.

 

WE WILL GLADLY ACCEPT:

  • Children’s Spring / Summer Clothing, (girls sizes: preemie thru size 16) (boys sizes: preemie thru 14) ***LIMIT OF 150 of BEST Clothing items per consignor.  (A multi piece outfit priced together will be counted as 1 item.)  Note: There is NO limit on toys, equipment, etc.

  • Sales Incentive: Sell more and you can bring more!  Consignors who achieve a high sell thru may be allowed to bring more than the 150 clothing limit in future sales.    (KidsTown will contact those consignors eligible). 

  • Baby & Children’s Bedding and room decor, bassinets, rocking chairs, high chairs, strollers, swings, pack and plays (must be assembled) changing tables, bouncy seats, baby gates, toddler beds, children's and baby furniture.

  • KidsTown WILL accept cribs that make into a toddler bed but they must be sold as a "Toddler Bed". http://www.cpsc.gov/onsafety/2011/06/the-new-crib-standard-questions-and-answers/

  • Shoes in excellent condition only!  (Limit of 5 pair of shoes per gender).  Shoes must be in size appropriate Ziploc type bag. Index card may be placed inside the bag or taped to the outside of the bag.  Bag must be sealed securely with packing tape.

  • Child appropriate toys, videos, CDs, DVDs, books, games, puzzles, computer games, etc.. (Videos, DVDs must be in the original case).(Please secure ALL loose pieces in sealed Ziploc bag).  Game boy, play stations, game cube, etc. also accepted.     

  • Sports equipment, bikes (with training wheels or kickstands), skates, wagons, scooters, riding toys, basketball goals, battery operated  cars, etc.

  • Play Equipment, Play kitchens, workshops, table and chairs, train tables, doll houses, slides, swings, etc.

  • Home School Curriculum.

  • Dancewear, Gymnastic wear, Karate wear, Dress Up clothes, Costumes

  • Grab Bags that are theme oriented (small Barbie items, army toys, small cars, etc….) Place items in a clear plastic Ziploc bag (not brown bag) and seal the top of the bag with packing tape.  Attach index card to the OUTSIDE of the bag.

 

WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT:

  • Any item recalled by the CPSC and not in compliance of the CPSIA, click here to view recalls: www.cpsc.gov .

  • We are unable to accept Fall and Winter items for this sale, please save them for our Fall Sale in July.

  • IMPORTANT: KidsTown is unable to accept ANY Crib made prior to June 28, 2011. The CPSC states: Beginning June 28, 2011, all cribs manufactured and sold (including resale) must comply with new and improved federal safety standards. The new rules, which apply to full-size and non full-size cribs, prohibit the manufacture or sale of traditional drop-side rail cribs, strengthen crib slats and mattress supports, improve the quality of hardware and require more rigorous testing. The details of the rule are available on CPSC’s website at: http://www.cpsc.gov/businfo/frnotices/fr11/cribfinal.pdf .  (We will accept cribs that make into a toddler bed but they must be sold as a "Toddler Bed".) http://www.cpsc.gov/onsafety/2011/06/the-new-crib-standard-questions-and-answers/

  • Used undergarments (Only NEW in the package undergarments will be accepted).

  • Maternity or Junior Clothing.

  • Battery operated toys without the batteries (Inexpensive batteries are available at most dollar discount stores).

  • Car seats (unless they are infant seats which are part of a stroller/travel system).  No car seat bases will be sold.

  • Stuffed Animals - Due to space we are NOT able to accept Stuffed Animals.

  • Any type of jewelry.

  • Stained, torn, extremely worn, faded or out of date items. Broken or items with missing parts.

  • Household items (candles, dishes, household pictures that are not child related, etc.).

  • Improperly Tagged Items! – (We accept 3 x 5 Cards Only).

  LIMIT OF 150 CLOTHING items per consignor. 

Minimum price of $3 per item***

***Exception: $1 minimum price will be allowed on Books, Videos, CDs and DVDs.

A multi piece outfit priced together is counted as 1 item.

NOTE: there is NO limit on toys or equipment.
